Artist & Art Facilitator

Hi, I’m Lucy Malone — an artist and art facilitator passionate about inspiring creativity in young minds. I work with children in schools, creating fun, hands-on art experiences that encourage self-expression, imagination, and confidence. My workshops are all about making art accessible, joyful, and meaningful for every child.

Art Facilitation

I work closely with schools to design and deliver art workshops that are both educational and inspiring. Whether it's exploring the textures and patterns of lino printing, or experimenting with mixed media, I aim to create a space where children feel free to express themselves and take pride in their creations. My sessions are designed to be inclusive, joyful, and process-focused — encouraging curiosity, confidence, and a sense of artistic ownership. I love seeing how children respond to different materials and techniques, and how art can become a powerful tool for communication, storytelling, and self-discovery.Through my work, I hope to not only nurture artistic skills but also support emotional development and creative thinking — skills that extend far beyond the classroom.

About

I work primarily in oil pastels, acrylic, and watercolour painting. My creative practice is deeply rooted in community, education, and inclusion. With a background in Visual Design & Fine Art from DLIADT, I’ve spent much of my career blending art with education—especially in working with children and adults with special needs. Over the years, I’ve taught art in both school and community settings, and have had the joy of organising exhibitions that celebrate the creativity and achievements of my students.Currently, I teach after school art classes and with students with additional needs in Wicklow. My workshops focus on hands-on exploration, encouraging self-expression and confidence through painting, printmaking, and collaborative projects. My inspiration comes from the people I work with—their stories, their energy, and their unique ways of seeing the world. I believe art should be accessible, joyful, and empowering, and I strive to create spaces where everyone feels free to create and connect.

My Work

Welcome to my gallery — a collection of my personal artwork created using painting, drawing, oil pastels, and mixed media. Each piece reflects my love for colour, texture, and storytelling, often inspired by the natural beauty of Wicklow and the expressive energy of the people I work with. This space showcases both finished works and experimental pieces that explore emotion, memory, and connection through layered, tactile processes.

If you’re interested in purchasing a piece or would like to discuss a commission, I’d love to hear from you.
Please feel free to get in touch for pricing, availability, or to chat about a custom artwork.
